KVPY FELLOWSHIP for
school and college students interested in research
careers
The Department of Science and Technology, Government
of India, offers attractive fellowships (Rs.2000 to
Rs.5000 pm) and contingency grants for students
studying in Basic Science, Engineering or Medicine.
Selection to the programme takes into account academic
excellence and demonstrated interest in research.
Selection is open to Indian national studying in
India.

Eligibility:
|
Basic Science: (up to
120 Fellowships)
|
* Stream SA : Students
joining in XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the
academic year 2005-2006 and having secures a minimum
of 75% marks aggregate in Mathematics and Science
subjects in X Standard Board Examination.
* Stream SB : Students joining 1st Year UG Programme
(B.Sc./Integrated M.Sc. in Chemistry, Physics,
Mathematics/Statistics or Biological Science, B.Maths
/ B.Stat) during the academic year 2005-2006 and
having secured a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics
& Science subjects in XII Standard Board
Examination. Students enrolled/joined in related
courses, such as Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering
,Biomedical Science; or dual degree programmes with at
least one degree in science are eligible to apply only
under SP stream
* Stream SP : Students pursuing XI, XII or any UG
programme in Science (I or II year) may apply by
completing a science based research project.

Engineering(up to 25
Fellowships)
|
* Stream EA : Students
joining 1 Year B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch during the academic
year 2005 - 2006 and having secured a minimum of 60%
marks in Mathematics and Science subjects in XII
Standard Board Examination. A research project is
required.
* Stream EB : Students joining II Year B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch
during the academic year 2005-2006 and having 1 class
in the 1 year exam of B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch. A research
project is required.

Medicine Stream (up
to 25 Fellowships)
|
|
* Steam MA : Students
enrolled in MBBS program. Students must have passed
XII Standard Board Examination with 75% marks in
Science subjects not earlier than 2003. A research
project is required.

GENERAL:
|
Each stream has its own
application form. Students who wish to apply for more
than one stream should submit separate applications.
SA and SB : Applicants may apply either by hard copy
or ONLINE (www.iisc.ernet.in/kvpy)
SP,EA,EB and MBA: Applicants can apply only by hard
copy.
Hard copy of application form is FREE, and can be
obtained from KVPY on request by sending a
self-addressed LARGE (1011 x 12.511) cloth lined
envelope stamped (Rs.30/-) clearly indicating the
stream (SA,SB,SP/EA,EB/MA) on the envelope. The
complete application form along with the processing
fee of Rs.50/- (DD/Postal Order drawn in favour of SID
A/C KVPY payable at Bangalore) should be sent to KVPY.
